If there is one band that has been hyped to the max for the last year then it’s The Savages. Only releasing two tracks so far (Which are killer) I wondered how their other material would hold up. But I needn’t have worried.

Every track held up and they are ferocious to watch live. Their debut album is out in May on Matador I would advise seeing them as quickly as you can. Check out some tracks below.

I have been dying to see Four Tet live for an age. Seen him DJ twice but never play his own material.

The venue was the grimy Heaven and it was a Thursday which I was quite disappointed by as once it got started it had a full on rave feel. Playing tracks from all his previous albums this was a gig of dancing from start to finish. Check out two of my favourite tracks of his.

This is the second time I have seen Unknown Mortal Orchestra and the only things that disappointed me about this gig were the 7 foot man stood in front of me the whole time and the fact it was £5 for a can of luke warm beer.

They are on their second album now just released simply titled II. The three piece band from New Zealand blend psychedelic rock and Lo Fi beautifully. Check out my two fav tracks from the album (of which there are many)

Foxygen are a duo from california who specialize in creating 60′s psychedelia and avant-garde music.
I popped down to see them play at the Lexington and wasn’t disappointed by there quite bizarre behaviour and top tunes.

I can only assume they were stoned or worse, the female singer who joined them on stage in particular was slightly lost But in a good fun way. Sam France the lead singer was particular hilarious in his banter between songs.

Check out their new album “We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic” which is already being lauded as an album of the year so far.

Fidlar stands for ‘Fuck It Dog, Life’s A Risk. And a risk is what your taking if you go too near the front at one of their gigs. I stayed well at the back as the whole gig was chaos…In a good way. They have a touch of the Ramones about them and rattle out their tunes with ferocious pace.

Ending the gig by telling the crazed kids at the front to “Drop out of school and start a band”. My favourite moment had to be when the security guard came on and stage dived, I guess they make everyone lose their mind’s for a moment. Their debut album “Fidlar” comes out in Febuary on Wichita Recordings.
