Darren Cunningham is Actress and R.I.P is his third LP and for me his best yet. Released by the Honest John Label there is less of the techno beats that we saw on his previous albums “splazsh” & “hazyville” and more of a dreamy synth sound that will take you far away to another place. God that sounded cheesy but that’s how this album will make you feel.
He doesn’t seem to do many live shows but he is playing Plastic People in Shoreditch on the 27th april and will also be heading up the Bloc weekend in July. Another contender for one of the albums of the year along with Death Grips and it’s only April, aren’t we being spoilt! Enjoy some of my favourite tracks from the album.
